Believe: Ralph Waldo Emerson is known for his essays on government and politics but he is famous for his experiment living in the wilderness and subsequent novel of his time away called Walden. Emerson cast aside his wealth and comfort and entered the Walden Woods to live for a time because he believed he could find more harmony and peace there than all of the possessions and comforts of his ‘normal' life could provide. Of the experiment Walden quipped "Whatever you do you need to believe. Whatever course you decide upon there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong.
