Acceptance: Among the many wonderful stories in the
‘back' of the book Alcoholics Anonymous is one on page 407 of the 4th edition called "Acceptance was the Answer."
Well known for several passages regarding accepting who and where we are
today, the most recognizable and instructive section is found on page 417.
And
acceptance is the answer to all my
problems today. When I am disturbed, it
is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation - some fact of my
life - unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that
person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to
be at this moment. Nothing absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake.
This inspirational
message charges all of us with the task of not only accepting where we are
today but realizing that we accept because there is a divine intelligence at
work in all of our lives. Wear the
acceptance life wheel as a reminder of the need to let go and allow the spirit
to work for us and through us.
