“We will not regret the past, nor wish to shut the door on it”
Throughout our recovery we have not only been forgiven, we learn to forgive. We do this not for the other person, but for ourselves. It is in our spiritual path and strengthens our connection to God, which in turn endures our sobriety and well being. It is part of the spiritual process to ceasing resentment, indignation and anger.
The poet Reidhu described forgiveness as : Forgiveness is pertinent in all the three worlds; it helps to sail across the ocean of birth and death; it enables us to be endowed with the three jewels: Right Belief, Right Knowledge and Right Conduct and safeguards us from a miserable plight.
